DJM Consulting Engineering’s experience in educational and institutional projects consists of higher educational facilities including colleges and universities, and school design for both private and public use. Projects include new construction, renovations, alterations, and adaptive reuse.

Project Experience

Barnstable Academy, Oakland, NJ
Interior renovation within an existing elementary school facility.  Existing restrooms were renovated and a new music room, computer room, dance studio, student lounge and offices constructed.

Beach Haven Pump Station, Beach Haven, NJ
Construction of a new pump station building. The building is supported by a 350-KW standby diesel generator.

Beth Israel Congregation, Scotch Plains, NJ
Remediation of an existing heating, cooling and ventilation system at an active religious congregation facility.  The existing first floor is comprised of multipurpose rooms, classrooms, social hall and sanctuary totaling approximately 12,500 sf and the second floor consists of classrooms totaling approximately 1,750 sf.

Capela Flavors, Kenilworth, NJ
Interior office fit-out and warehouse.

East Rutherford Municipal, East Rutherford, NJ
Interior renovations and alterations to the existing town hall municipal building.

Fellowship Covenant Church, Bronx, NY
Renovation of the basement multi-purpose room and first-floor sanctuary room within the existing building footprint.  Several general-purpose rooms will be demolished and converted to one open room.  The existing restrooms on first floor in the newer portion of building will be expanded to accommodate the additional occupancy requirements.  All lighting in the basement and modified first floor rooms will be replaced.  The sanctuary will remain as-is and may be modified in a future project.

Golda Och Academy, West Orange, NJ
New three-level STEM Lab Addition to the existing high school.  The addition was approximately 4,000 sq-ft.

Hillel Student Center, Rutgers Campus, East Brunswick, NJ
New ground up construction of a community center within the Rutgers campus. The building is two-story totaling approximately 30,750 square feet with a basement and includes a commercial kitchen operation to serve meals to the students.

Monmouth University - Woodrow Wilson Hall, West Long Branch, NJ
Electrical infrastructure and life safety systems upgrades for the main building and Annex including new service entrance switchgear, associated power distribution systems, and new branch circuit panels. Life safety systems include a new fire alarm system with voice evacuation and a new standby emergency generator. The building is approximately 120,000 sq.-ft. and was constructed in 1928.

Partners Pharmacy Processing Facility, Springfield, NJ
Fit-out construction of a new approximately 86,532 SF of production and office facility.  The design included a 180 KW standby diesel generator with three (3) automatic transfer switches. The following is a breakdown of spaces:

2,544 SF of IV Production area
20,955 SF of Corporate Office
8,305 SF of Shared Areas (breakroom, locker room, education center, restrooms, etc.)
2,165 SF of Ancillary Areas (Fire Pump Room, Switchgear, IT Room, Electrical Room, etc.)
2,413 SF of future use

Saint Leo the Great School STEM wing remodel in Lincroft, NJ
Alterations to a portion of the second-floor classroom wing addition that was constructed in 2006 as a building addition. Classrooms 212, 214, 216, 218 and portion of Office 220 are to be impacted. The floor area for this remodel is approximately 3,310 square feet.  The remodel is to re-arrange the above listed spaces to accommodate a New Technology Classroom (212), two New Science Lab/ Classrooms (214, 216) with a shared Prep Room (214A), and a New Math Classroom (218).
